Getting Around Cappadocia Without a Car

How to think about local transport in Cappadocia, and why airport transfers should be planned separately from day-to-day travel between towns.

Local travel and airport transfer are different problems

For sightseeing, travellers use a mixture of walking, local minibuses, taxis, tours and rental cars. Which option works best depends on the towns and attractions you plan to visit.

Do not assume every attraction has a simple public-transport connection

Central towns are easier to move between than remote valleys or underground cities. For places outside the main settlements, check the current transport options for that day rather than relying on an old timetable.

Airport journeys need more certainty

An airport departure has a fixed deadline, so a confirmed pickup is more reliable than trying to arrange local transport at the last minute. Both shared shuttles and private transfers are booked in advance using your flight details.

Use the hotel as the meeting point

For airport service, the hotel or accommodation name is normally the clearest pickup or drop-off reference. We do not use the airport-transfer service as a general town-to-town taxi.

Plan the airport separately
